Picture your child like a giant, living, breathing, walking, talking puzzle. As he or she grows, more and more of the puzzle falls into place over time. The expectation, of course, is that all of the pieces of the puzzle fit perfectly.
And, usually, it does. His arms and legs grow proportionally so that he can run, jump, skip and bend with ease. Her eyes and nose and smile form at about the same time, so that her face is in proportion.
Teeth, tongue, lips, smile, it should all grow in proportion as well. But when it doesn’t, that’s where the problems start. Now imagine your child’s smile as a piece of that puzzle we first talked about.
What might happen if his or her mouth doesn’t quite “fit”? The fact is, the sooner you straighten your child’s smile, the faster it will develop as it should; straight, clean and healthy!
