Studies have shown that smoking can kill useful helpful oral bacteria! We all know that that smoking can cause a lot of damage to the smoker, i.e. discoloration of teeth, lung cancer, as well as breathing problems.
If smoking isn’t bad enough, according to new research, smoking causes the body to turn against its own helpful bacteria, leaving smokers more vulnerable to diseases.
They did studies on the mouth of a healthy nonsmoker, despite the regular disturbance of brushing and flossing, contained a stable ecosystem of healthy bacteria. Now the mouth of a smoker is far more “chaotic” and more susceptible to invasion of harmful bacteria causing a tremendous amount of problems!
For a beautiful smile, practice good oral hygiene!
